It started out as a metaphor in a painting. But a simple umbrella has morphed into so much more through a series of programs put on by the Seashore Family Literacy center.
Last Friday marked the final day of the center’s most recent youth writing workshop. The workshop, led by local journalist and poet Drew Myron, centered on the theme of shelter, and incorporated the book, “The House on Mango Street,” by Sandra Cisneros.
