Recent Waldport High graduate Ricky Ballentine, and two other players from Lincoln County schools are set to play in the 2010 East-West Shrine game in Baker City on Saturday.

Ballentine, who has been working in practice at wide receiver and outside linebacker in a 3-5 defense, is on the West squad, while Newport's Tristan Metcalf and Taft's Michael Selvidge are on the East team.

Ballentine said he anticipates playing mostly defense, and added that he has more experience at his position on that side of the ball. After three years as a quarter, Ballentine switched to tight end for the Irish for his senior season.\
