Anglers can have fair to good fishing for resident cutthroat trout in most areas of the river. Sea-run cutthroat trout are starting to return with best chances in the bay or lower river. Using small spinners, spoons or fly fishing can be very effective. Use of bait is restricted above tidewater until Sep. 1.
