VIEWING

• Nursing baby seals - Baby seals are on the beaches and if folks keep your distance, they might get a chance to watch harbor seals nursing their young.

Those who come across baby seals should keep their distance and not touch them. Even though they may look abandoned, the mother is not far away and will return. If people touch them, the mother might abandon them and they will die.

Seals also sometimes carry a serious disease, leptospirosis, which can be fatal to people and dogs.

• Birds - This is a great time to watch nesting sea birds and falcons on the coast.
