Irish end season in high spirits despite loss

Despite solid hitting performances, the Waldport Irish softball team finished their season on a down note, losing 10-3 to the Kennedy Trojans in Mt. Angel on Tuesday.

The Irish, coming off what head coach Roxy Smallwood described as their “best game of the year” at Regis last week, got seven hits to go along with the seven walks and a hit batter they drew from the Trojans. But they were unable to capitalize in a number of situations, leaving a total of 11 runners on base.
