Bissell receives Elks vocational scholarship

Two seniors from Waldport High School and three from Newport High won a total of $4,700 in scholarship assistance for their first year at college from the Newport Elks Lodge.

In addition to those awards, the lodge also provides an annual vocational scholarship.

Holly Bissell, another senior from Waldport High, won the competition for that award. Worth $600, this scholarship is presented in memory of the late Jerry Williams, a Past Exalted Ruler of the Newport Elks Lodge.
