Keizer man’s cause death remains under investigation
One man died and several others were injured in Seal Rock on Saturday evening when a “cannon device” exploded.
At around 8 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of S-Low Road on a report of several people being injured in an explosion.
Upon arrival, it was learned that Eric Jason Rose, 38, of Keizer had been struck by a flying piece of metal and was unconscious. Personnel from the Seal Rock Fire Department and Central Oregon Coast Fire and Rescue attempted CPR, but they were unable to revive Rose, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other adult males received injuries in the explosion. One was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport for treatment.
