Yachats baseball festival is in play Saturday

The Yachats Academy of Arts & Sciences will sponsor the first-ever baseball festival on Saturday, July 28 in Yachats.

Called “Triple Play,” it offers something for everyone, whether baseball fans or not.

Three afternoon ball games are scheduled on the ball field behind the Yachats Commons. The first game for small children ages 6 through 8 begins at noon. The second game for children ages 9 through 12 begins about 1 p.m. Both of those games for children will feature very soft baseballs and soft bats.

The Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program (YYFAP) staff will organize and manage the teams. Adults will do the pitching.
