Celebration to honor poet William Stafford set in Waldport

To celebrate the 99th birthday of the late poet William Stafford, the nonprofit Friends of William Stafford group is sponsoring a reading of Stafford's work and other writings.

The event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Waldport Community Center, 265 Hemlock St., in Waldport, starting at 3 p.m. It is open to all ages.
