New trail nears completion

The public trail system in Yachats will add a new segment in the near future.

Crews are finishing up work on a new segment of trail that will connect the Gerdemann Botanical Preserve to Fisterra Gardens Apartments, with much of the new section running along Siuslaw National Forest property. The new segment comprises 740 yards of new trail winding through the woods behind Fisterra and connecting to the Starr Creek trail just north of the botanical preserve.
