Job Corps urban forestry students celebrate Earth Day with weed pull

On Monday, April 22, students of the Angell Job Corps Center urban forestry program celebrated Earth Day by removing large Scotch broom plants along Highway 101 north of the Alsea Bay Bridge. They joined forces with Concerned Citizens for Clean Air (CCCA), a local nonprofit whose members voluntarily remove invasive weeds from ODOTís 25-mile herbicide-free highway section from Newport to the Lane County line.
