Members of the Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue District wearing T-shirts reading, “Jiah’s Brigade,” surround Jiah Quayle in front of the Waldport fire station. The volunteer firefighter was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, and a cancerous tumor was found on the arch of his left foot. He underwent surgery to have his foot amputated below the knee last month.
