SOUTH BEACH — Two South Beach residents were each sentenced last Thursday, Aug. 14 to 24 months probation for their roles in a heroin and methamphetamine operation they used mainly to feed their drug habits.
Devon Hays and Jamie Purcell were each sanctioned after pleading guilty to drug charges during separate afternoon hearings in Lincoln County Circuit Court before Judge Thomas Branford.
Both defendants pleaded guilty to felony counts of unlawful manufacture of heroin, and unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine. In exchange for their guilty pleas, the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office agreed to drop a number of related charges.
