NEWPORT — Many people today are often glued to social media. While it can sometimes cripple social interactions, it can also encourage them. Which is what the Lincoln County School District is aiming for.
The district now has its own Facebook and Twitter pages, “so we’re entering a new age of technology here,” Superintendent Steve Boynton said. LCSD’s Twitter account went live in June, and its Facebook page went up July 9.
The goal is to provide more avenues of communication, ways often used by youth and middle-aged adults these days.
“Our new superintendent, one of his priorities will be increasing community outreach, and our presence in the community,” said Communications Coordinator Mary Jo Kerlin, who will be managing the accounts.For the complete article see the 08-27-2014 issue.
